The Justice and Peace ministry is a ministry of education and advocacy, devoted to giving witness to the Gospel by living and proclaiming Catholic Social Teaching. We are happy to become a part of the Servants’ Entrance community, and hope to be an active part of this wonderful community. Any members of the Servants’ Entrance community are invited to be part of this ministry group. Bread for the World
Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad.
By changing policies, programs, and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity at home and far beyond where we live. We can end hunger in our time. But churches and charities can’t do it all. Our government must also do its part.
By making our voices heard in Congress, we make our nation’s laws fairer and more compassionate. We leverage big changes for people in our country and around the world who struggle with hunger.
Each year, BFW conducts an offering of letters to our senators and representatives in Washington, urging them to help end hunger. Our offering of letters this year must be done individually, since we do not have a church lobby in which to collect letters. Justice and Peace has created PDF formatted letters for both of our senators and all of our representatives. If you are not sure who your representative is, enter your address at https://www.census.gov/mycd/. If you live outside of Michigan, we have included PDFs that you can print and put in your senator names and representatives (you’ll need to look up addresses.)
We urge you to print your three letters (two senators, one representative) at home, sign your letters and print your name and address, and then mail them to the addresses provided. This should be done sometime in April or May if possible.
