What’s underneath? …

Servants’ Entrance Community

Mission (what we do):

Together, we create an intentional community that supports its members in living as compassionate disciples of Jesus. Fully engaged in our faith journey, we foster connections and relationships as Church, the Body of Christ. Collectively, we work to create a framework around communal prayer, spiritual and faith development, and outreach to others.

Vision (what we want to be):

An inclusive and welcoming intentional community of disciples of Jesus, focused on living as the Body of Christ on a collaborative journey of engaged adult faith formation and humble service.

Intentional community: We do not actually live together in one village, but intentionally interact through virtual and physical means as a community towards a shared vision and mission with common values.

Values (foundation – what we stand on):

  • Servants’ Entrance living: committed to the values below and regularly coming into our houses and hearts of prayer, pausing to connect with our identity in and with Christ, and then entering into the world as Christ’s Presence – devoted to humble service to others in compassionate solidarity with the poor and marginalized.
    • Christ-centered: God’s Presence within and among us is the focus of our living.
    • Body of Christ Mindset: A belief that the truth of humanity is God’s Interconnectedness; impelling us to attend to community, collaboration, welcoming, and inclusion. To see life through a principal lens of – Love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself. Compassion is always the last word.
    • Evolving Holistic Faith: a faith born of openness to being transformed by continual active connecting to all expressions of God: creation, individual and communal prayer, scripture, our neighbor, wisdom, and science.
    • Adult Discerning Faith:  Responsibility for our own faith and spiritual growth and continual formation of conscience.
    • Beatitude Mindset:   Christ’s preferential option for the poor, peace, justice, mercy, humility, compassion, and non-violence.

Inspirations:

As disciples of Jesus, we are inspired by his life, ministry, and teachings; the Acts of the Apostles, the Second Vatican Council Spirit of Church, and the leadership and example of Pope Francis.

Distinction (what we are not):

The Servants’ Entrance is an intentional community that is rooted in the Catholic faith and is neither a church nor a parish.  Some community members also choose to belong to parishes/institutions in their area.

And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
